Stephenson Table

et al. was approached by an NYC fashion designer. The scope was to design and build a work + live table for her Ft. Greene studio / work shop. The table became a new focal point for the space as it mixed activities for both living and working on one plane. The table top, a refurbished metal door, was salvaged from an industrial warehouse. Structurally supported by two systems: (1) a dark stained ply-wood grid puzzle, composed of an interlocking system without any need for hardware (2) a hand built welded hair-pin leg system composed of solid and hollow core steel rods. The three components were designed for easy assembly, dis-assembly and mobility in mind.
